How Far Would I Go?
This is the new question that plagues me. Actually, it probably plagues my significant other more so than it does me. It is common knowledge that I enjoy a escape rooms (enjoy might even be too meek a word). Having done most of the escape rooms in Toronto, a girlfriend and I have now basically knocked down the box that is Toronto and begun combining our love for travel and our love for escape rooms.
We have now traversed more than 1500km by car and 1400km by air together to continue our escape journey. To clarify, the distance covered is an approximation of our trips there and back. We’re part of an escape community online and we get wind of snippets here and there; a conference in Amsterdam, a cool new mom and pop shop in Florida, a one-time large scale event somewhere in Asia.
How far are we willing to go to get to our next escape destination? I think it’s become so ingrained in us that even if we are not planning a trip to escape (yes, there is a difference!), we are on the lookout for an escape room at our destination. Is this a phase? Potentially. How long can escape rooms hold my interest before there aren’t any new ones that I want to try?
At the end of the day, I count myself lucky to be able to travel and to have a group who enjoys escape rooms and travel. Postings on my Ottawa and New York escapades to come!
