Fighting Evil by Moonlight…
Winning love by daylight!
Never running from a real fight!
She is the one named Sailormoon!
My favourite anime of all time is Sailormoon and for the 20th anniversary, they re-animated the series and are releasing it as Sailormoon Cyrstal. That is so exciting! I’ve caught all 5 episodes of it already. For those who haven’t, here’s the new Opening theme song for a taste of what’s to come.
I have watched all of the seasons plus the special movies. I still go back to watch it again sometimes and it just seems like I can’t get enough of it. I’m not quite sure what it is. I remember coming home from school during lunch to watch Sailormoon and trying to make sure that my daily TV quota included Sailormoon. I mean, aside from keeping up with Spiderman, X-Men, Transformers and Reboot, this was pretty much my top priority when it came to TV.
Since my elementary school days, I’ve even managed to watch the Sailor Stars season. Yes, I’m quite serious about all of this. Sailormoon is clumsy and not the smartest cookie out there. But there is definitely something endearing about her and just romantic about the entire show itself that draws me in. It could be that she befriends all these individuals who are pretty much loners without her. She’s this spot of brightness and when I have a bad day, she makes me laugh. Yes, I’m a lost cause. I’m waiting for the re-boxed set of the manga so I can purchase the 20th anniversary edition of it. I love Naoko Takeuchi’s art and style. It is absolutely beautiful.
The Sailormoon Artbook Volume Infinity is super rare and if I could get my hands on one, I would be super excited. Unfortunately, the chances of that are slim, so I’ve just gone around online to search for scanned images from her artbook instead.
I leave you with my favourite scene from Sailormoon. I usually cry when I get to this part in the episode. I just can’t help it.
