And here in Toronto…

Yes… it was snowing this morning… AGAIN! Whatever happened to spring? I have to admit, though, that I much prefer snow to the rain pelting down on me as I try to rush to wherever I’m trying to go (these days, that’s likely from the train to my car). Getting hit by rain is an ok feeling unless you’re in work clothes. Then, it’s a yucky feeling.

Back to being geeky me. My voice has gone all gravelly and I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t affect my ability to contribute to my team in the escape mission we have booked for tonight. This is the first time I’ve ever competed with 19 other teams simultaneously before for an escape mission, so we’re not really sure what to expect or the format this will be in. I suspect it may be a similar format to Murder at the ROM that Urban Caper Scavengers runs (definitely a fun and interesting event if you manage to sign up for it. They also run one in the Kensington Market area, I believe). Link here for more information on their stuff.

Two days ago, I saw Errol’s beta review on Escape from the Bank and I read the intro and nothing else, in fear that I would come across something I didn’t want to know about until I finished the escape tonight. In the mean time, I’m trudging through my Friday and getting hungry for some lunch.

I feel like there were wayyyyy too many people in there. Read your beta review and it seems like there were only 16 teams of 6 when you did it vs 20 teams of 6 when I did it. Still a lot of people IMO. In any case, I have to say I enjoy regular escape rooms more than this one. I feel like it was more of a mash-up of puzzles than a true escape room. Very interesting and successful concept though. That’s for sure.

Can you see yourself doing another one?

I completely agree with the not worth it part. They did manage to turn this concept into a very successful business though. These events must bring in a lot of money for them, I imagine.
